The scene returns to Jet & Cord trying to figure out the previous leg roadblock, and Kent & Vyxsin ripped out the clue in 10th place instructing them to proceed to find a monument that reads: Sail to Stop, after that signing up for a chartered flight that leaves to Broken Hill, a small mining town in Australia, and Phil stresses that only the first 6 teams will be leaving on the 6.00am flight, the remaining 5 teams will settle down on a flight that leaves exactly 30 minutes later.
Soon after Jet & Cord solved the riddle and heads to the pitstop for Leg 1, Gary & Mallory, Ron & Christina and Amanda & Kris soon found themselves lost and their cab is driving aimlessly. Jet & Cord too encountered the same problem, as they circled around Sydney and tries to past Sydney
Ron & Christina soon found themselves in a similar situation again in Season 12. On the other hand Mike broke down after Mel injured himself on his ankle.
As the first 6 teams arrived at Broken Hill, teams were instructed to go to The Living Desert, where teams faced off the race first detour option, In Spirit World, teams must use traditional materials and make a mosaic and dance around it to receive the next clue, In Natural World, teams must use natural water and clay and mix them and put them inside their mouth by spitting to create 4 pictures to receive their next clue.
As Zev & Justin finishes the task, many teams made mistakes at the Spirit World option, by dancing around the mosaic and not inside the mosaic, one of the teams is Kent & Vyxsin. Zev & Justin the proceeded to the home of the magpies: Central Football Club, they then knew that they must dressed up in kangaroo suits, navigate and hopped to the junction of Mercury Street * Bismuth St using a periodic table elements, While Zev & Justin finishes the leg by getting a 5 day tour in Cancun Mexico, provided by Travelocity, Flight Time & Big Easy checked in second place, Jet & Cord and Kisha & Jen checked in in third place and fourth place respectively, Margie & Luke lost their lead after Margie dropped her kangaroo socks and went back to retrieve, eventually checking in in fifth place, joining them soon is Mel & Mike, Kent & Vyxsin and Jamie & Cara. Ron disapproving method to Mallory nearly cost them the race as Gary & Mallory checks in in ninth place while Ron & Chrsitina tenth place. Amanda & Kris couldn't overcome their last place position and were the first team eliminated.
